Infants are born with skills that, together with the experiences that adults offer them, allow the development of communication and prelinguistic abilities that will make the basis for the subsequent linguistics stage development. To think about the special path that children with TEA make in this development will allow, the professionals that work with them, reflect on what to take into account, and how and when we need to consider the use of some type of augmentative communication.
