POLICIES

Focus and scope

Fields of Educational Psychology ans Counselling journal publishes articles on theory and professional practice about psychological, pedagogical, educational psychology and social advising, intervention and counselling, connected to the educational and developmental contexts of infants and youths from the educational, social and sanitary aspects.

Its main purpose is to facilitate the construction, diffusion and exchange of academic and professional knowledge surrounding these essential themes. The journal approaches specially professionals, university professors and students, interested in educational psychology and psycho-socio-educational intervention in general.

The journal accepts original manuscripts in catalan and spanish.

Fields of Educational Psychology ans Counselling edits also specialized monographs, gathered in the collection “Educational Psychology and Counselling Monographs.”

Review policy

The articles submitted to the journal will be evaluated by two expert peer reviewers from the Editorial Board, independent of the authors, or by external experts in the field, not institutionally linked to the author.

The authors will be punctually informed of the article receipt by the OJS platform. The Editor will make the first revision in order to assess if the theme and formal aspects fulfill the minimum requirements established by the journal.

Once accepted, the text will be referred to two expert peer reviewers for its evaluation within an established term in which they have to notify the editor if it is apt or not for publication. Positive evaluation of the article may include a suggestion and / or modification proposal. In this last case the authors will have to introduce the considerations that the reviewers suggest. If the article is rejected, the authors will receive the reasons in writing. The final instance responsible for publication is the director of the journal.

Communications with authors will be made through the OJS platform and the deadlines will be a maximum of three months in the review process and six months between the submission and publication of the manuscript.

The reception and acceptation dates will be documented in the publication.

Declaration of ethical principles

The journal ÀÁF Fields of Educational Psychology and Counselling is committed to follow and maintain these ethical criteria at all stages of publication:

Responsibilities of the editorial team and the publication

Accept only original articles that have not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal.

Ensure the confidentiality of the author’s data in the review process.

Establish clear criteria for the acceptance and evaluation of articles.

Avoid conflicts of interest between publishers and reviewers in relation to the texts presented by the authors.

Use the texts and data provided by the author only for the purposes stated by the journal and for their publication.

Determine the terms of the process of acceptance / non-acceptance and revision of the texts.

Responsibilities of reviewers

Make a fair and objective review of the manuscripts.

Clearly state the points of view and arguments of the assessment to the authors, in order to facilitate in a constructive way, possible modifications that are necessary to improve the text.

Do not accept articles for review in which there may be a conflict of interest that limits their objectivity.

Maintain the confidentiality of the information and data of the evaluated articles.

Do not accept those articles in which plagiarism and / or autophagy is detected. If necessary, they will be reviewed with specific plagiarism detection tools.

Responsibilities of the authors

Ensure the originality of the works and that they have not been published or are being evaluated in another journal.

Ensure that manuscripts are original and, in case that papers, parts or words, tables or figures from other authors have been used, these sources of information are properly cited and referenced.

Respect the deadlines set by the publisher to make the proposed modifications to the publication of the work.

Access policy

The journal Fields of Educational Psychology and Counselling gives open and free access to all its contents free of charge and with full texts. The publication of manuscripts in any of the sections of the journal does not entitle you any remuneration. We do not charge any submission or publication fees from the authors.

 Publication frequency

 The journal is published six-monthly: May and November.

Digital preservation policy

The PKP Preservation Network provides free article preservation services for any OJS journal that meets the basic criteria. In this sense, and to guarantee their digital preservation in a safe and permanent way, the articles in the Àmbits de Psicopedagogia i Orientació/Ámbitos de Psicopedagogía y OrientaciónFields of Educational Psychology and Counselling magazine are archived in LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe).

Likewise, the journal is included in open access in the DIALNET and RACO repositories and all articles are assigned the DOI identifier.

Interoperability protocol

The magazine ÀÁF Fields of Educational Psychology and Counselling provides an OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interface that allows other portals and information services to access the metadata of the published content.
