A day at the USEE
Abstract
During the academic years 2005-06 and 2006-07 special support has been provided for students with autism spectrum disorder by the Special needs education support unit of the CEIP Bisbat d'Egara de Terrassa. The aim of this unit is to take maximum advantage of integrating these students in the activities of the regular class group. In order to achieve this it has been necessary to establish a series of procedures : introduction of specific study strategies in the classroom, adaptation of access to the curriculum, specific programmes of intervention in certain areas- programmes of behaviour modification, programmes to facilitate and increase communication and nutrition assistance programmes. Coordination among professionals is essential if these aims are to be met.
