Men in Dialogue: New alternative masculinities preventing gender-based violence througout education
Abstract
Men in Dialogue (Homes en Diàleg) is an association of egalitarian men that was born in 2007 with the aim of opening spaces of dialogue and promote educational actions that made the new masculinities visible. In these years of existence the association has had a significant impact which has already been collected by the press and some scientific publications. The basis of its work is those relevant aspects that scientific research on masculinity and education raises about preventing gender violence, bullying and homophobia. These aspects are models of attraction, the language of ethics and the language of desire and new alternative masculinities. This article will describe in detail all these aspects and their translation in the actions carried out by Men in Dialogue.
