The basic needs of autistic children

Abstract

From a teaching and psychodynamic perspective, the author brings us closer to understanding the world of the autistic child. She offers strategies for intervention that are practical both in special and normal school settings. These strategies help the students to relate to their environment, to recognize their emotions and to incorporate new skills. Some of the ¨tools¨ that the author proposes to promote change in these special pupils are confidence, perseverance, firmness and awareness that you are faced with a gradual process
