The article develops the idea that volunteering service to vulnerable groups, or simply giving personal time to others, helps to develop socio-emotional skills throughout life. This idea is illustrated by the testimony of people of different ages and working situations, who explain the meaning of volunteering by them, and also with the explanation of the project "Young people for others" carried out by the Infant Jesus / Jesuit school in secondary education.
