Abstract

During the last years, an important change on the frameworks of the School Psychopedagogical Services has taken place in different regions of Spain. The Centre for Educational Research and Documentation (CIDE) has financed a research project with the aim of revising the public policies in the School Psychological Service field. The main structural and functional characteristics of the framework that has been modified since LOGSE in four regions (Castilla la Mancha, Galicia, Navarra and País Vasco) are summarized in this article, based on the findings of the CIDE study. Some common tendencies have been identified after analysing similarities and differences among these four contexts. Firstly, the implementation of inside school services in Pre-school and Primary Schools, although the structure and organization is different in each case. Secondly, professionals from the socio-educational field have joined these services. Nevertheless, the coordination among different services (Social Services, Health Services…) through a single structure or team is still unresolved. Finally, it seems to be clear that no matter how much the school psychopedagógical services improve, this will not be enough unless the general organization of the schools does change.
