As of March 2020, due to the confinement caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, like so many other organizations, the network of schools “Xarxa de Competències Bàsiques” (Xarxa Cb) had to be reinvented to continue offering and facilitating spaces for mutual collaboration. . The “Xarxa Cb” is a type of training and professional development of teachers based on peer and network learning, promoted by the Department of Education for 20 years, within its ongoing training plan and at the same time is recognized as an innovation program.
The “Xarxa Cb” is made up of teaching teams from infant, primary, secondary and baccalaureate education centers, special education and adult training who want to initiate, maintain or consolidate processes of reflection-action as a team and as a network to transform the school in a space that promotes meaningful learning. At present, 602 educational centers in Catalonia are part of the “Xarxa Cb”, distributed in 15 territorial networks, with the active participation of more than 8,000 teachers.
In this article we relate how we have adapted to the new situation and share 30 testimonials from teachers and advisers from the Territorial Services and from the pedagogical resource centers who tell us how useful it is to participate in the “Xarxa Cb” to have a place of confidence, security and hope and continue working to improve the learning of all students.
