To meet the needs of contemporary society, the school has had to incorporate new elements into the development of its teaching – learning activity which provoke change in classroom methodologies and in the organization of its resources. This is essential in order to achieve the current educational objectives which place the pupil at the center of his or her own learning process and reconsider the role of the teacher, no longer the sole holder and distributor of knowledge but a reference and a guide working and sharing responsibilities with other teachers. This involves making the teacher aware of the need to adapt their own teaching style to one more suitable for working within a team and to develop new personal and organisational skills which enable them to respond to the diversity within the society and world of today.
