Since its inception the public School Fructuós Gelabert from Barcelona is defined as an underconstruction project continuously joining the entire educational community. One of the most important pillars for the proper development of the school and its educational project is the participation and involvement of families. During the second year the school launched an experience called Everyone to School (this year we celebrate the 9th edition). Everyone to School desires to add value to all members of the Fructuós Gelabert’s educational community and to promote directly the involvement of families in their functioning and development. The cooperation between families and teachers, and between teachers and families with non-teaching staff, is encouraged, especially all together with children. The objective is to create new learning situations from the involvement of other people different than teachers in the classroom tasks. Thanks to this activity families enter into the school and they are directly involved in its functioning and the learning processes of the children. The Everyone to School initiative has become a flagship activity of the school. It is an active way of participation and denotes a high degree of responsibility. Finally, this initiative is the foundation of intense feelings which undoubtedly favour a greater understanding of what is the real meaning of an educational community and the acquisition of a commitment for its development.
