Learning, a social encounter
Abstract
This article presents the adaptation that the teaching staff of Vila Olímpica school is currently carrying out to help handicapped children, in particular children with serious difficulties in their learning process. The basis of the Educational Project (Integrated Language Project in the inclusive school) and the criteria necessary to guarantee teaching with diverse necessities are presented. In addition the characteristics of handicapped pupils and the educational activities required for pedagogical support are also highlighted. In the adaptation process special attention is given to the reflection by teaching staff on educational activities, and the proposal of new learning contexts, which are considered appropriate according to their functional and relational perspective. Along these lines the new learning contexts, created specifically for this objective are described.
